The HELP House is a licensed group home that provides structured, transitional living programs for women. We operate multiple homes that serve:

  • Women in recovery (sober living)
  • Young women aging out of foster care
  • High-functioning women with mental health diagnoses (DMH-supported)


Yes, we are:

  • Licensed in the state of Massachusetts
  • Partnered with DMH, DCF, and state recovery networks
  • A privately run, community-rooted program with professional oversight and compliance

To be eligible for The HELP House, individuals must meet the following criteria:

  • Age: 18-24 for transitional youth programs; 21+ for sober living and DMH homes
  • Gender: Female-identifying residents
  • Income: Priority is given to individuals with state referrals or in financial need
  • Background Checks: Must pass a basic background screening; we do not accept individuals with a history of violent offenses or sex offenses
  • Referral: Referrals may come from DCF, DMH, probation officers, recovery programs, or self-referral with documentation


Yes! We welcome referrals from:

  • Case managers
  • Social workers
  • Therapists
  • Family members
  • Probation/parole officers



Most residents are state-funded through DCF, DMH, or recovery programs


We also offer a limited number of scholarship or grant-funded spots depending on availability


We do allow approved visitors at specific times:

  • Visitors must be approved by staff
  • No overnight guests
  • Quiet time begins at 9:00 PM
    (Full visitor policies are reviewed at intake.)


  • Transitional Youth & DMH Residents: Up to 12 months, with the possibility of extension based on progress
  • Sober Living Residents: 6–12 months depending on individual recovery goals


We welcome community support! You can:

  • Make a donation (monetary or in-kind)
  • Sponsor a resident’s essentials
  • Volunteer your time or expertise (job training, life skills, wellness)
